In  Albret, they know how to enjoy themselves.  Whether you like nature, want to discover a bit of history or try the fabulous food and  wines the Albret in Lot-et-garonne is the place to be.

At 12 o'clock, you can hear bells ringing from the local church in Le Couvent .  Opposite of this church you will find the start of a marked hiking in Fieux.  You can download the walk here, together with 400 other routes. You can also obtain them free of charge at the Tourist Office in Nérac.

The variable and rolling landscape with its vineyards, orchards, forests and sunflower fields offers a nice challenge for cyclists. Those who prefer a flat course with the family can find the perfect trip along the Canal de la Garonne and enjoy the panoramic views and green environment, sometimes referred to as "little Toscany".

There are also routes for horseriding.

 The passionate fisherman can go to one of the many rivers like  La Baïse, La Gélise, Galoup, ... the canal, or the nearby lakes as in Lamontjoie (10km). 

 

Boating can take place in Nérac on the Baïse with the Croisières du Prince Henry where the guide will learn  you everything about the region's history and boat trade.

The Lot-et-Garonne has about 200 km of navigable waters. You can also explore the surrounding area of the Garonne or Baïse by kayak. If you are more an adventurous type of person, you can visit Walibipark in Roquefort (18 km),  Cap Cauderoue with an aerial course in Barbaste (17km) or the Lud'O Park in Nérac (9 km).

The caves of Fontirou are a bit further in Castella (43 km),  but they are definitely worth a visit.

In the Jardins de Coursiana at Romieu (18 km) you can walk around and drink a cup of coffee or tea on the terrace.   You can also buy  an ice cream that is made from the fruit of this garden, delicious! 

 The historic patrimony near Fieux is also very enjoyable. The nearest popular places are Nérac at 10 km, Sainte-Colombe-en-Bruilhois at 12 km, Condom (15 km) and Vianne (20 km).
Worth a trip are the Gallo-Roman villa of Séviac in Montréal, followed by Larressingle, which is also called "Small Carcassonne" and the former Cistercian abbey of Flaran in Valence-sur-Baïse (30 km).

 The Lot-et-Garonne and the nearby Gers region offer additional activities during summer.

Delight your senses with the Marmande tomatoes, the famous prunes of Agen, the foie gras or la Tourtière (apple pie of puff pastry). The region is also known for the cultivation of fruits and vegetables including the tasteful melons.

Near Fieux,  the red Buzet wine is made in the north and the oldest fine brandy in the world can be retrieved in the south: la Flamme de l'Armagnac.

Throughout the whole region, you can go visit local farms to taste their products, a definite recommendation!They will be happy to have you.

A visit to the local Marches nocturnes during summertime should not be missed if you want to savor the local products in a cozy atmosphere.(Monday in Mézin, Tuesday in Nérac, Wednesday in Francescas, Thursday in Lamontjoie or Lavardac, Friday in Le Frechou or Vianne)

From Fieux it takes you less than 2 hours driving to the Atlantic Ocean (Mimizan, Arcachon, la Dune du Pilat,...), or to one of the great cities (Bordeaux, Toulouse, Pau, Lourdes,,...) or to discover the  mountains of the Pyrenees.
